Sample-to-Script™
Take a step-by-step look at the entire process.
Sample‑to‑Script is a complete workflow connecting soil sampling, lab analysis and fertilizer prescriptions. Whether you handle parts of the process yourself or work fully through a Radicle agent, each step is designed to be simple, accurate and repeatable.
Follow each step below to see how it works.
Step 1:
Connect with an Agent and Set Up Your Account
The first thing to do is connect with a Radicle agent and set up your operation in the Radicle system.
What to Do:
- Contact a local Radicle agent to understand available services and support
- If no agent is nearby, samples can be sent to Radicle Lab hub locations in Illinois, Texas or Ontario. Contact us for more information
- Create a free Radicle App account online or through the mobile app (Available on iOS or Android)
- Whether you do your own sampling and prescriptions, or rely on your Radicle agent for those services, having your own Radicle account gives you instant access to your soil test data and tools on the Radicle App
Step 2:
Set Up Fields and Sampling Maps
Before collecting samples, you need to define where and how those samples will be taken. This step ensures you capture meaningful data from your fields, sets the foundation for reliable recommendations, and aligns your sampling approach with your management goals.
What to Do:
- Import existing field boundaries into the Radicle App
- Create new field boundaries if needed
- Upload or build sampling maps in the app
- Define grid or zone sampling depending on your goals
- Review your plan with your Radicle agent (if applicable)
Step 3:
Collect Soil Samples
With your plan in place, you can start collecting geo-referenced soil samples or schedule service with your agent. Radicle offers multiple tools so you can select one that best matches your operation.
What to Do:
- Confirm each sample location in the Radicle App
- Use GeoPress for automated collection and packaging while moving through the field
- Use GeoPress Lite for manual sampling with automatic geo‑referencing
- Use GeoBag to scan, label and track samples with the app on your phone
- Ask your Radicle agent about purchasing and rental options, or see if they offer custom services if you prefer they handle sampling for you
Step 4:
Submit and Analyze Samples
Once samples are collected, submit them to a Radicle Lab for analysis. All sample data is stored on the GeoTube or GeoBag, so no paper submittal forms are necessary! Results are delivered directly to your Radicle App, giving you clean, organized soil data without delay.
What to Do:
- Drop off or ship samples to a Radicle Lab
- Use Radicle shipping materials if needed
- Send samples to a Radicle Lab hub if a local lab is not available
- Confirm samples are received at the lab
- Wait for lab analysis to be completed, typically within 48 hours of arrival
- Access results directly in the Radicle App
- Review soil data by field, zone or sample point
Step 5:
Generate Prescriptions and Apply
With soil data in hand, it’s time to put it to work and create scripts. The Radicle App has built-in recommendation options or you can customize your own.
What to Do:
- Use the Radicle App to generate fertilizer prescriptions
- Apply built‑in recommendation equations or use your own approach
- Work with your Radicle agent for guidance if needed
- Export prescription maps to your equipment
- Apply fertilizer based on field‑specific recommendations
- Repeat the entire process as often as desired to continue improving your fertility program
